Opponent Steve Knight Stands with Special Interests
Santa Clarita, Calif. – Bryan Caforio, Congressional candidate for California’s 25th District, is proud to receive the endorsement of Senator Elizabeth Warren. Caforio’s opponent, Rep. Steve Knight promotes policies that prevent families from fully participating in their communities and our economy.
“Too many people in our country today find the deck stacked against them. They’re struggling in an economy that works great for billionaires and giant corporations, but not for everyone else. I trust Bryan Caforio to put the people and families of Santa Clarita, Simi Valley, and the Antelope Valley first — to invest in their future and to create the conditions so every child has a chance to succeed,” said Senator Warren. “I’m endorsing Bryan because I know he’ll prioritize creating a level playing field, he will fight for equal pay for equal work, he will protect women’s reproductive health care options, and he will embrace our diversity and innovation with comprehensive immigration reform.”
Senator Warren is a champion for working families and has been a leading voice in holding Wall Street accountable. She has been widely recognized as a fierce advocate for middle class families and protecting them from the predatory practices of financial institutions and big banks.
“I’m honored to receive the endorsement of Senator Warren, a progressive champion and tireless fighter against economic inequality,” said Caforio. “Just as Senator Warren has never wavered in her fight to create an economy that works for everyone, I also promise to give families the tools they need to succeed. I will fight to ensure that no person in the 25th District ever feels that they are being held back and that they are given the rights and opportunities they deserve.”
Caforio was born and raised in Southern California by two public school teachers, attended UCLA and Yale Law School, worked for a United States federal judge, and practices as an attorney taking on some of the world’s biggest banks. Bryan lives in Santa Clarita with his wife Lisa, who serves as a Deputy City Attorney at the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office.
The 25th District covers northern Los Angeles County and part of Ventura County including the Antelope Valley, Palmdale, Lancaster, Santa Clarita, and Simi Valley. President Obama won the district in 2008, and experts consider this race a toss-up . Last year Democratic registration eclipsed Republican registration, and the district is now majority-minority. National Republicans list Congressman Knight as one of their most vulnerable incumbents.
