Santa Clarita, Calif. – Today, Bryan Caforio, congressional candidate for California’s 25th district, is proud to receive the endorsement of Barack Obama. In the campaign’s new ad, “Hard Work,” Obama appears alongside Caforio and tells viewers that he stands with Bryan.
“I’m with Bryan because he’ll take on the big banks, just like he did as a consumer attorney,” says Obama. “He’ll fight Republican efforts to privatize Social Security, keep Planned Parenthood funded and protect women’s health, and pass equal pay for equal work.”
Obama’s endorsement is a major development in the 25th Congressional race and is a recognition of Bryan’s steadfast priorities. While Rep. Steve Knight has shown he will sit by and place his own political career ahead of the welfare and well-being of his constituents, Caforio will stand up to bullies on behalf of all the communities of the 25th District.
“I’m honored to receive the endorsement of Barack Obama, a true leader for our nation who has never wavered in his fight to improve the lives of all Americans,” said Bryan Caforio. “While extreme Republicans like Steve Knight have made it their mission in Congress to block action and undermine progress, I promise to continue the work that Obama has done for our country. I will stand up and act for seniors, women, immigrants, and everyone who calls the 25th District home.”
Caforio: My parents are both public school teachers.
Caforio: Growing up middle class, they taught me the value of hard work. And to stand up and to bullies like Donald Trump.
Obama: I’m with Bryan because he’ll take on the big banks, just like he did as a consumer attorney.
Obama: He’ll fight Republican efforts to privatize Social Security.
Obama: Keep Planned Parenthood funded and protect women’s health.
Obama: And pass equal pay for equal work.
Caforio: I’m Bryan Caforio and I approve this message.
Caforio and Workers: Because it’s time to get to work!
Caforio was born and raised in Southern California by two public school teachers, attended UCLA and Yale Law School, worked for a United States federal judge, and practices as an attorney taking on some of the world’s biggest banks. Bryan lives in Santa Clarita with his wife Lisa, who serves as a Deputy City Attorney at the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office.
The 25th District covers northern Los Angeles County and part of Ventura County including the Antelope Valley, Palmdale, Lancaster, Santa Clarita, and Simi Valley. President Obama won the district in 2008, and experts consider this race a toss-up . Last year Democratic registration eclipsed Republican registration, and the district is now majority-minority. National Republicans list Congressman Knight as one of their most vulnerable incumbents.
