Caforio Campaign Renews Debate Challenges
Reminds Voters that Knight still refuses invitations to discuss the issues
Santa Clarita, Calif. – Yesterday, in the Los Angeles Times, one of Representative Steve Knight’s political consultants Matt Rexroad, said that the Knight campaign is “working on the debates,” and that Steve Knight and Democratic challenger Bryan Caforio “certainly will be debating.”
Thus far, there has been no response from the Knight campaign on Bryan Caforio’s letter from July 13th with suggested dates and locations and his commitment to discuss the issues that directly impact the residents of this district. Additionally, voters were disappointed that Congressman Knight refused the Canyon Country Advisory Committee’s request for a debate on 7/11 — demanding that it be a Q&A with Rep. Knight only and the Knight campaign has still not replied to the Santa Clarita Valley Signal’s proposal to host a debate in the coming weeks on August 18th.
As a reminder, here is the proposed list of debates:
Canyon Country, Sponsored by the Canyon Country Advisory Committee, July 20, 2016 *Refused*
Valencia, College of the Canyons, Sponsored by Signal Multimedia, August 18, 2016
Palmdale, August, 25, 2016
Lancaster, September 17, 2016
Newhall, October 4, 2016
Porter Ranch, October 15th, 2016
Simi Valley, October 25th, 2016
When will Steve Knight be ready to provide the constituents of the 25th District the opportunity to hear directly from the candidates? The very important issues facing our country are pressing — and both Congressman Knight and Bryan owe it to this district to make their cases clear.
