NEXT FRIDAY: Bryan Caforio to Debate Congressman Steve Knight in the Antelope Valley
Next Friday, April 8, Bryan Caforio, candidate for Congress in California’s 25th Congressional District will for the first time debate first-term incumbent Representative Steve Knight. The debate will take place at the Antelope Valley African American Chamber of Commerce’s “Prime Rib & Politics” dinner.
Political handicappers and newspapers across the country have described the race as highly competitive. Just this week the New York Times Magazine wrote that Bryan Caforio’s strong response to the Porter Ranch crisis and Steve Knight’s negligence have helped make CA-25 one of the most “contested races in the House.”
The 25th District covers northern Los Angeles County and part of Ventura County including the Antelope Valley, Palmdale, Lancaster, Santa Clarita, and Simi Valley. President Obama won the district in 2008, and experts consider it a toss-up in a Presidential election year. Last year Democratic registration eclipsed Republican registration for the first time, and the district is now majority-minority. National Republicans list Congressman Knight as one of their most vulnerable incumbents.
